why I like this site
by nancy drew ini like this site (aside from the fact that we have the jw experience in common) because i have come to realize that all of you are very creative, interesting & courageous.
it takes a special person to exit the jw's.
we all of course are also very different & thats good because we can learn from each other.

Saddening and Inspiring...
by IronHill inok, so we received our new copy of crisis of conscience (since my previous copy was lent out and never returned) and me and the wifey have been reading it together for the past couple nights.
i have read the book before, and know the shock felt when you read about certain things in the organization.
she admits to having lingering thoughts and feelings of guilt for leaving perhaps the only true religion.

I too felt a bit overwhelmed by the magnitude of the deceit & lies. I was not raised in but spent 25 yrs of my life entrapped and it is truly disturbing as more & more is uncovered because even in your wildest imagination you never realized it could be that bad.
hang in there both of you & start your new life.

Pendulums. Are they dangerous?

I came into the org in the mid 80's with absolutely no jw background and I had no idea that they had ever written any of this stuff. Even in my wildest imagination I would never have thought to ask about this stuff & no one mentioned it. I was busy reading all the current things there really wasn't an internet so I got baptised totally ignorant of so many things and I thought I knew what it was about.
now the insanity of it all is overwhelming

Wierdest Yearbook experience EVER 1967 A "talking snake" silenced by an African Witness!!!
by Witness 007 inyearbook 1967 p.105 "{chad -africa}.....a large crowd was follwing a man who had a talking serpent.
the serpent gave greetings and spoke in foriegn tongues...a brother was passing by and attracted by the commotion, he went to the house...as soon as he entered the room the serpent stopped talking.
the man cried out: "a magican has entered the room"...the brother said: "is that a serpent or a demon that is talking to you?...i know that since god created the animals not one sepent has spoken, with the exception of the one in the begining in the garden of eden...seeing that the serpent remained silent the man left the building...later he was anxious to get some literature....".

ok so your planes crashing towards earth... do you pray?

The logic behind that situation is when planes crash we all know people on board are praying to survive but mostly they don't so we know it doesn't work. I wouldn't know who to pray to for help because I don't believe anyone intervenes in those situations to save some for some future mission.
